Star Wars Age of Rebellion: Dawn of Defiance
Garm Bel Iblis
As a Senator, Garm Bel Iblis was extremely patriotic towards both the Old Republic and his home planet, and was said to embody the Corellian spirit of independence. He was considered a political maverick, and his charisma won him many allies in the Senate. He is also a keen military strategist and an astute observer, skilled at thinking on his feet during crises. Unafraid to speak his mind the Corellian is often wary of the ambition of others.
Garm Bel Iblis was once a senator representing Corellia in the Galactic Senate during the final years of the Galactic Republic. Charismatic and independent, he strongly opposed the power being gradually built by Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, and invoked an ancient Corellian proviso in order to keep his homeworld out of the Clone Wars. When Palpatine reorganized the Republic into a Galactic Empire and declared himself Emperor, Bel Iblis continued to serve in the Imperial Senate, but publicly spoke out against the man in spite of strains that it placed on his marriage with a pro-Imperial wife.
With the death of his wife and children, the Senator has gone into hiding and founded a militaristic resistance movement with which to fight the Imperial war machine. Although Bel Iblis is a skilled military leader, he sees the need to merge his rebellion with other resistance movements, and is working towards those goals.
